WALKING TO WATER
Amplified Voices x HWFC
Honest Weight Food Co Op - Albany, NY // July 2021
Amplified Voices partnered with Honest Weight Food Co-op to engage local youth in a week-long mural program centered on food access, interdependence, and community care. Co-led with Jade Warrick, the program guided students through collaborative design and large-scale painting while building leadership and creative confidence. Inspired by a poem from youth mentor Danielle Colin, students translated a story of compassion and shared stewardship into a 70-foot mural installed in the co-op’s parking lot. The project concluded with a community celebration, reinforcing the mural as a shared symbol of care, nourishment, and belonging.

“In my 14-year career as a Community Relations Specialist at the Co-op, this project stands out as a true highlight. The attention to detail, the collaboration with talented artists and muralists, and the involvement of youth from our community created something truly meaningful. This mural has left a lasting impact on our community here at Honest Weight, admired by many each and every day. I enjoyed working with Eugene and his team. They brought about a clear vision and good communication for the logistical aspects of the project in terms of budget, timeline and space needed.”
